First Weekend

Friday we had no water, which meant no shower before Saturday's visit to 2 waterfalls. That trip included a 3 hour van ride, crazy amounts of stairs, 200% humidity, lactic acid burn, crazy long wait for food, and the bumpiest car ride of my life. And on the way back I didn't even get to buy dark chocolate out of the van window (Vendors sell food to all the people stuck in traffic...it's actually brilliant.) Last night was a failed attempt to go to Club Aphrodisiac because someone flaked out...rude. But chilling with Jennica and Sarah Nash was wonderful! We mooched off of some strangers' music hanging in the hallway. Good times. Later on today we will be going on a van tour of Accra and to the Nkrumah Mausoleum and that's it for today. I think I forgot to mention out trip to the Aburi Botanical Gardens which was pretty blah. Trees are cool, but I imagine more flowers and less green at a botanical garden. Oh well. I tasted the most bitter leaf of my life and got a leaf that smells just like Big Red, so I'm happy. Still not in our permanent rooms yet but having water back is quite nice!
