Good morning, beautiful people! Classes are over! I am in the middle of revision week...and I haven't really revised anything. Oh well! Swahili is my first exam and it's on Monday. I'll study. I promise! Rundown time!
1. Sarah Nash, Jennica and I went to the Cultural Center on Friday. Shopping not done in the mall is always stressful and this was no different. Getting led from kiosk to kiosk and being told how beautiful you are gets old. Really fast. all I wanna do is pay my price and leave, sir. Leave me be. I got lots of stuff though! Christmas presents! Yay! And a dress for myself. =)
2. I forgot to mention last time that I woke up at some point last week and discovered that I basically mauled myself in my sleep. I had three horizontal scratches over my right eye and a couple gashes over my left. It was a mess. I looked ridiculous. All healed now!
3. Mother and G-ma will land in less than 24 hours! What what! I hope it's not too hot or busy for them...
4. I also failed to mention that Ghana doesn't have Daylight Savings time so I'm not 5 hours ahead of EST so if I call earlier, that's why!
5. Newsflash! I'm reading books. It's weird and unfamiliar. 3 down, however many to go! I highly recommend Funny in Farsi by Firoozeh Dumas.
6. It's still hot. I keep trying to find ways to describe it and on the way here I decided that it's like this: So, you know it's hot and will be no matter what time you leave your room while the sun is out. You try to walk slowly to keep from pouring sweat but you don't want to stay out in it too long so you can't slow down. And all of the Ghanaians around you apparently don't have sweat glands because there's not a drop on anyone's face which only makes you hotter because your self-conscious on top of everything else. I hope that's a vivid enough picture. If not, Jennica says she feels like a baked potato wrapped in aluminum foil.
