So, folks, I am home! I'm writing this from my room...crazy! I thought I would recap the final days after my final post in Ghana, so here goes!
Friday (post posting): Jennica, Sarah Nash, and I ventured over to the Child Study Centre for the cutest end of semester party ever imaginable. All the kiddies were in their party clothes being all adorable. I did get my last round of physical abuse at the hands of a little girl I'd never seen before and Kofi, who is just bad for absolutely no reason. All in all, it was a good time. That night we went with some of the Tufts-in-Ghana group to Chez Afrique for fabulous (and free!) Ghanaian food. Yummy!
Saturday: We ventured to the pool at Hotel Shangri-La and got our final tan on and then we waited around until it was time to go to Club Mirage for the final hurrah...around 1 am. It was decent. A tad hot and hard to move/breathe at times but it was good! Got back at 6 am on Sunday...oy vey.
Sunday: So, we got all ready to head out at 1 to the Forex Bureau to exchange money and didn't make it because I had a sharing of words with the useless seamstress and pretty much freaked out. I went eventually but the day wasn't a good day. We were supposed to leave for the airport at 6:30 pm but got held up by the same 2 people who ALWAYS hold us up from leaving. It was quite annoying. When we got to the airport nothing made sense and no one gave clear answers. They just vaguely pinted in directions and expected you to know where to go. That was a mess. Got our boarding passes only to find out our connection was different and sat at the gate and almost got hypothermia thanks to overactive air conditioners. Blah.
Plane rides...the days confuse me: Accra to Amsterdam was amazingly on-time and got in early...which only meant the layover was 9 hours instead of 8 but it was a lot easier to deal with the second time around. The McDonald's was better too! Food on the plane was surprisingly wonderful. Chicken curry, fruit and granola bars. Amsterdam to Boston was just as good! We took off on time and landed early again. Customs wasn't terrible, I had fabulous pasta and pretzels and pizza and chocolate ice cream! Good stuff. I started watching Funny People and it was TERRIBLE but Fighting and The Proposal were both excellent. The car ride from Logan was honestly worse than the plane rides.
And now I'm home and faced with crazy amounts of laundry and catching up to do with everyone! I hope to see all of you very, very soon!
